Getting Ready for Camp

Is everyone ready?  Camp is August 15, 16, and 17 this year and we will need plenty of volunteers to serve over 75 children and teens.  Last year was our most amazing year ever with a record breaking 80 children and teens served, with 88 originally registered.

We are looking for 44 volunteer facilitators to run the groups with the kids ages 5-18.  You can choose to be in 5-8, 9-12 or the teen group.  We also need 11 helpers to support facilitators in preparing for grief activities and camp activities.

If you are already a SandCastles volunteer all you need to do is call up your Program Coordinator and request a camp volunteer application.  Fill it out and return it as soon as possible.  Check with your coordinator to make sure you have a current TB test.  Lastly, there will be a mandatory training day in August that will provide all volunteers with information that will be needed for the weekend’s adventures.

If you are not already a SandCastles volunteer, you need to get ready to join us by registering for SandCastles volunteer training.  Call our office and ask to speak to a Program Coordinator and register for training that will give you all the skills you need to work with the children at camp.  You will also need a current TB test, which we can provide for you if you don’t already have one.

We have trainings coming up soon so please don’t miss out on the fun, call 313.874.6881 today.
